Microsoft downloaded an update early this AM (4/13). When I tried to attach
a file to an Outlook message (which uses Word as my editor) Outlook hung. I
tried to open the file with Word and word hangs. Any help would be
appreciated.

I had the same problem, which affected Word documents as well. Scroll down
to my mail called 'Word Hangs after latest MS Update Download'. It seems its
a bug in a bug fix!
