Default Repeat entry in document

Good day,

A user asked me the following: she's created a two-page document and she
would like to type in the client's name only once but add some kind of
command to make it repeat in strategic locations in the document.

How can we achieve this?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Helen:

Open Word.

Select View Toolbars and make sure FORMS is checked.
A toolbar will appear that has an "ab" then a check mark, etc. At the
end is an icon of a golden padlock. This is the FORMS toolbar.

Place your cursor on the spot where you want to type the name the first
time.

Click the "ab" icon on the FORMS bar. This will insert a little gray
text box.

Double click on the little gray textbox.
In the window that opens, make sure the "Type" box says "Regular text."
Make sure the "Fill-In Enabled" and "Calculate On Exit" boxes are both
ticked.
In the box to the right of the word "Bookmark," change the name of the
bookmark from "Text 1" to "NAME."
Click OK and you will be back to your file. You're not done yet,
though!

In every spot where you want the name to be repeated, place your
cursor, then, from the menu bar at the top of the page:

Select InsertReferenceCross Reference

In the "Reference Type" box, select "Bookmark."

A list of bookmarks will appear. At this point, the only one in the
list will probably be "NAME." Make sure it is selected and highlighted
in blue.

Click insert. Repeat this every place you want the name to be
automatically entered.

Before closing the document, be sure to click the golden padlock on the
FORMS toolbar.

When you open the file the next time, the little gray text box you
inserted at the beginning should be blackened out and all the places
you inserted "cross references" will show blank space.

Do not move your cursor, as it will already be set to type in the gray
text box.

Type the person's name, then hit TAB. The name shoud now appear in all
the spots you need it to be.

Next, click the gold padlock again so you can continue working within
the document.

When finished, you will want to remove the gray box. Put your cursor
somewhere on the page and press CONTROL A. The entire page will be
highlighted. Then press CONTROL/SHIFT/F9 at the same time. This will
remove the gray box and any other markings that this messing around
will have caused.

Save your document, and you are done.
