Default keyboard symbols change into different ones, I do smth wrong?

When I am typing a document in Word sometimes the symbols onmy keyboard give
a different result, e.g. / becomes - * becomes (, ( becomes) etc.
What do I do wrong.

It sounds as though you have two different keyboard layouts defined in
Windows Regional settings and you are switching between them. Delete the one
