Default Unable to sum using 'formula' sum(Above)-- plz help

Hi,

I am not able to sum the numbers of a cell using 'formula' in Table.In case
I use =SUM(ABOVE),it does not show the sum instead it shows the text
'=SUM(ABOVE)'.

Please please help .. its urgent.It was working fine till 2 days back.. May
be some setting changes have been done .. I'm not able to do...

Plz help...

Hi Shell,

Did you create a field to hold your formula? You can do this by pressing Ctrl-F9 to create a pair of field braces (ie '{ }'), then
typing your formula between them. If you've already typed the formula without putting it in a field, you can instead select the
formula and press Ctrl-F9. When you're done, select the field and press F9 to get the formula to calculate the result.

Graham and macropod have addressed the two likely explanations, but note
that if you used Table | Formula, you don't need to create a field because
Word does it for you. If that's what you did, then you can ignore macropod's
advice (except as being helpful if you want to create your own fields
manually) and go with Graham's (Alt+F9 to toggle the display).
