Default joining tables

I always like to search for my answer before posting a question, but I have
not been able to find the answer to my problem. I have two separate tables
that I need to join. According to the posted questions about joining tables,
the answer has been to delete the paragraph mark that resides between them
and the two tables become one - this is not working for me even when the two
tables have the same properties. Any suggestions? I can tell they're still
two separate tables by the square with the plus sign that layes in the upper
right-hand corner of each table and when selecting the columns, only one
table column is selected. Thanks,

Default joining tables

The most common problem is that one or both of the tables is/are wrapped.
