~$files. doc
Every file that I save has a comparable file leading with ~$. What are these
files? They can't be opened and they cluther my directories. can I eliminate them? |

~$files. doc
They're "owner files", which Word uses to prevent other users from
editing the documents while you have them open. When you close the document normally, Word should automatically delete its owner file. If that doesn't happen, you may have your folder permissions set wrong.
