E-Mail merge help.
I work for a fulfillment comapnay who processes orders for several clients.
Most of what I do is mergeing mailing lists to letters which get shiped with items. However they want me to start sending e-mail to customers whos orders are on backorder. I have developed a merge letter which i want to use and have it working with e-mail merge. However I need to find a way to send these e-mails so they do not come from my personal address. I thought of asking my customer to set me up an account on their mail server but I dont believe their exchange server is setup to allow connections over the internet. So is there any way to "Spoof" the e-mail so it appears that its coming from my customer and not our company. Im shure there is a way to do this since i get 100's of spam e-mails from places that im shure they didnt come from. |

And there are lots of ways that you can send e-mails programmatically from your PC. However, the fact that something can be done does not mean that it /should/ be done that way, or that it is in your interests to do so - what if your ISP imposes limitations on what you can do? It is only my personal opinion but it seems to me that the right way for your customer to approach this is to allow you to create the merge application that they require, and that may mean that you have to create an application that /they/ can run on their systems. As far as Word MailMerge is concerned, Word expects to work with a MAPI interface (in principle, it doesn't have to be Outlook, but it helps), and does not provide any way to specify the "sender" address. But you can send one mail at a time using other approaches. Peter Jamieson "NLiles" wrote in message ... I work for a fulfillment comapnay who processes orders for several clients.
