Styles
How do you set up customized headings so that they number sequentially? I set
the numbering option to outline. It numbered all H1s the same number as well as H2s etc. I highlighted the second H1 and second H2 and saw that "Continue with previous list" was selected. |

You need to apply outline numbering as described at

evidently I am missing something here. I had all that you had on your page
but it still will not name in sequence. It just names all H1's 1.0 and all H2's 1.1. something out if I have to type each number in. Check to make sure that the 1 you see in the Customize Outline Numbered List
dialog has a gray box around it. If it doesn't, it's not a field but a typed number. If so, delete it and change the number format to (none) and then back to 1, 2, 3 to reinsert the number properly. -- Suzanne S.
