Default highlighting several different word on same document

Is it possible to highlight several different sentences in a single document
at the same time. I want to change the formatting in several different areas
of my document which I can at a click but because these bits are all over,
I'm highlighting over and over....
I'm using Word 2000
Thanks

I believe the ability to make noncontiguous selections (with Ctrl+click) was
introduced in Word 2002. Sorry.

Do you have a Format Painter in 2000? This is a super tool for doing just
what you want. Format one piece of text the way you want them all to look,
and while still highlighted double-click the Format Painter button. It looks
like a paintbrush. Now, paste over all the text that you want to change. When
you're done click back on the Format Painter button to deselect it. Remember
to keep text highlighted before you select the Painter - it needs something
to copy! Click it once for a single use, and double click to keep using it.
Hope this helps.
