Default How do I stop indentation at the beginning of a page?

Word keeps indenting the first line of each new page. I've checked the
paragraph formats, page setup, and tab stops. All are set to the standard
settings, so I can't figure out why it's happening, and it's starting to
infuriate me. When I paste the text into a blank Word file, the indentation
goes away, but if I paste it into an existing file, it alters that entire
file to add the indentation to each page.

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting...lyIndented.htm for a
probable explanation.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I tried this, but it didn't work. I
deleted both the headers and footers and was still left with the indentation.
I do have all the non-printing characters displayed, and I don't see a
paragraph mark before the indentation. I'm incredibly puzzled. Any further
ideas?

Did you display text boundaries? That would help, too. The only cause of
this problem I know of is a wandering frame. Note, too, that deleting the
header text will not remove the frame, as the header paragraph (to which the
frame is anchored) remains.
