Default Menu arrows

I am using Word XP (i.e. Word 2002). When I use the menus there are these
small arrows that appear and when you move the mouse over them the rest of
the menu commands appear. The 2 arrows are connected and point downward.
How do I shut this off so that all the menu commands appear?

I also need to know how to do the same thing in Excel XP.

Open the Tools | Customize dialog and select the Options tab. Check the box
for "Always show full menus." You might also want to check the box for "Show
Standard and Formatting toolbars on two rows" so that you can see all your
toolbar buttons, too (or have room for more).
