Default docx and docs

Further to the question a couple of days ago, my question is now I am running
Office 2007 when I send a Word document it has the extension .docx. Most
people cannot open it if they don't have Word 2007. I have the old .doc and
can use both. How can I send a Word document that others can open please?
Thanks.

Other users can download the FREE compatibility pack for Word 2000 to 2003.
This not only gives them the ability to open the new formats, but gives them
the new font sets ensuring full layout compatibility.

You can then continue using docx format. If some users are unable to do
this, then change the default to Word Doc format under Word Options.

Great stuff, thankyou all. I'm sure I'll find an easy option from this lot.
Thanks again

Click on the Office button and then on Word Options and then on Save and in
the Save files in this format: pulldown, select Word 97-2003 Document
(*'doc)
