Why does Word 2003 'virus scan' each time I open a doc?
Each time I open a stored doc (which is virus-free) from my C: drive, Word
2003 goes through a virus scan which can be time-consuming. I can't find the option to turn off the repeated virus scan. |

This is coming from your AV, not Word. If the AV is Norton AntiVirus,
disable its Office Plug-in, which adds nothing and causes many other problems in Word. -- Suzanne S.
