Default I need a way to proof Word documents to make sure there are 2 spa.

Can anyone tell me how to proof a Word document to automatically make sure
there are 2 spaces after the period at the end of a sentence? Thank you,

You could do a find and replace. Have it find instances of .(one space) and
replace it with .(two spaces). Don't do the (space) thing, just put the
actual spaces in. You could a find for as many spaces as you want. Just
make sure you put the period before.

I had seen that on my searching but I have XP Word 2002...I cannot find that
option on mine software...Is there an update for this option or would I have
to get a later version of Word? Thank you so much....

Yes, you do have the option in Word 2002. Edit | Find or Control-F will
bring up the Find dialog, click on Replace. You don't even need to click
More in the F&R dialog for this.

Note also that in Tools | Options, Spelling & Grammar, click on Settings,
you can tell Word to mark 1 space between sentences as incorrect. This is
probably better, as Treesy's formulation will miss sentences that end in ?
or ! and you would need either a wildcard that searched for all ending
punctuation, or do a few different Find&Replaces.
