Have things changed since January 2005? When I tried, the ^| combination was
rejected as not an acceptable entry in the 'Find' box. I didn't get to check ^p. I was trying to make the replacement in a (large) selection, not the whole document. Could that have something to do with it? |

What is the error message you get when you try to use the ^l ?

That's because the code is ^l (lowercase L), not ^| (pipe character). If you
click More in the dialog, then Special, you'll see a list of special characters (such as line breaks) that you can have Word insert for you. -- Suzanne S.
