Editing a table in a Microsoft Word document
Why can't I right-click on a table in Microsoft Word, choose an option, and
simply delete the table? Only way you can easily delete a table is by selecting all of it with the mouse and hit delete - if it isn't done correctly, it only deletes the contents of the cells. Another way is to select all the cells, right-click and choose delete - but why can't you just simply right-click anywhere on a table and choose the imaginary "Delete table?" Another thing that is slightly irritating is inserting a table. If you insert a table at the very beginning of a new Word document, for instance, it isn't an easy process to insert text before the table. If you just keep on holding "Up", to bring you to the top of the document, it often times put you in the first cell of the table, but not immediately before it... you have to strategically plan a document if you're going to insert a table (which doesn't always happen). ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. Delete Table is on the Table menu. You can add that command to the right-click table context menu if you want to. (Do you delete tables so often that this is worthwhile?) Put the cursor at the start of the first cell, then select Split Table from the Table menu. |
