When I select update Table of Contents, the message asking to update the
entire table or just the page numbers does not always appear. Does anyone know what instance makes it appear/not appear? |

If you delete one or more headings, and then update the TOC, you won't get
prompted. Word has to make a full update to clear the items that no longer exists in the document. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "MelD" wrote in message ...
