I need it so the page numbers are all located at the upper right of
the document, except for a few select pages within the document where I need it to be located in the bottom center. If I change the location on one page, the change occurs on ALL pages, which is NOT what I want. Is there a way to do this....? |

Insert | Break | Section | New Page before each page where you want a "drop folio." In Page Layout, check "Different first page" Beginning at the start of the document, format the headers and footers as you need them, always using the arrow in the Header & Footer toolbar to move to the next one. Each section's first page will be the same as the first section's first page, and each section's other pages will be the same as the first section's other pages. (If you want to change anything in a later section, always work from the start of the document toward the end; making changes at the end can affect earlier sections without you realizing it.) To follow on from Grammatim.
You only need to select the "Different first page" if you do indeed what each first page of each new section to be different from the following pages within that section. To enable different Headers and Footers in different section you also need to turn-off the "Same as previous" link for the specific Header or Footer that needs to be different from the previous section. You will also need a New Page section break at the point where you want your document to return back to the way is was before the "Page Number centred" section. For further info, see: http://word.mvps.org/faqs/formatting...onscontent.htm This is for 2003 and prior, maybe different for 2007. Hope this helps DeanH "grammatim" wrote: On Jan 24, 12:43 am, martin lynch wrote: I need it so the page numbers are all located at the upper right of the document, except for a few select pages within the document where I need it to be located in the bottom center.
