I am typing a document and the numbers appear on every line, 1,2,3, etc. I
can't seem to remove them?

Are these line numbers (in the margin) or paragraph numbers? If the latter,
then you can turn numbering off (if it's been applied to Normal style) or
apply an unnumbered style (such as Normal). If the former, File | Page Setup
| Layout: Line numbers.

It would appear that you have numbering turned on. The icon beside the
bullet icon is one having 1-2-3 on it, click it to turn it off.
