I am trying to add a new Standard Avery product number to my label
options--how can I do so?

You can't!
The only way you can add to the list is by creating a custom label.
Most of the Avery product line (or equivalents) are already present.

If you vist avery.com you can download the Avery Wizard for various version
of word. I have just done that. It has all of the updated labels there. It is
loaded with templates specifically for Avery labels and is embedded into all
office programs for your use.

Unless Avery has re-written the add-in recently, it is a poor piece of
programming that doesn't do what the OP wanted nor does it add materially to
what Word offers by itself.
