make numbers increase incrementally automatically
How can I get Word to insert the number "A". "B" etc. in my Affidavits
incrementally whenever I add a new Exhibit (and so it will renumber them if I move them) This was so easy in WordPerfect! I tried Field Codes with AutoNum but they didn't number correctly with the defaults there, i.e. did 1., 2., etc. Is it possible to do in Word? |

You can use a SEQ field. It doesn't update *automatically*, but it will
update when you print, Print Preview, or Select All and F9. -- Suzanne S. Thanks - how exactly do I do that? i.e. what switches or instructions do I

Use Insert | Field to insert the SEQ field and use the dialog controls to
