Default Word 2000, saving to specific file

Using saved template and when saving does not go to my specific folder in My
Documents that I have previously selected. Do I have to change default
folder in Options or is there a way to have it saved in the template?

Default Word 2000, saving to specific file

Documents created from a template are saved by default in the folder defined
in tools options file locations documents.

Templates are saved in the file locations User templates. You cannot save
a template as a document.

If you change the active document folder during a Word session, that folder
will retain focus for the saving of new documents until it is changed or
Word is closed.

Existing documents will be saved in the folders they are opened from.
