Default Word 2002 - Little problems

I have a document from which I want extract 3 sections to send to a
University.

1) - I would like to use some smart divider between the sections so that
whoever reads it knows there is a break. Something like a zig-zag line or a
line that looks that the rough tearing of a page. Any ideas?

2) - The original document for reasons that I do not understand has the page
number on both sides (left and right bottom of the page).

a) How can I get rid of that? In fact, how can I get rid of the page
numbers altogether?

b) Is it possible to number the pages individually, so that I end up
with, say: 1,2,6,7,10,12?

Thank you very much

1) You can apply a zigzag border to a paragraph; see Format | Borders and
Shading

2) View | Header and Footer; Switch to Footer. Select the unwanted page
number and delete. Note that duplicate page numbers of this type were
probably inserted using Insert | Page Numbers and consequently will be in a
frame, so don't delete just the number; instead, click the number to select
the frame, then click on the frame border to select it (you'll see black
sizing handles) and delete that. You'd be well advised to delete both page
numbers inserted this way and then use the Insert Page Number button on the
Header and Footer toolbar to insert a page number in the footer itself.
Align it using paragraph alignment (if that's the only thing in the footer)
or the built-in tab stops.

There isn't really any way (barring multiple section breaks) to number pages
individually with numbers actually IN the header/footer, since anything in
the header/footer by design repeats on every page. You could insert a number
in a text box or frame anchored to a paragraph on the page and positioned in
the header/footer area.
