word has stopped working
I am running MS Office Home & Student 2007, & Vista. When I use MS Word I
lose the ability to use the mouse within the document window - I can't use the mouse to select text for example or to use the scroll bars, or move around the document in any way, but I can still use it to access the "ribbon" options. I've seen comments about an HP Printer driver being the problem but I don't have an HP Printer installed but an Epson R340. I've tried clicking on the Office Button to set the "Download a file . . . "option in the Trust Center but can't move around the options so can't set that option in Word, but have done so in Excel which continues to work perfectly. I need to use Word extensively - anyone have any suggestions - please? |

It's a corrupted registry key that needs to be deleted, after which Word will rebuild it. See Terry Farrell's post at http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-3641147-2.php (and http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Custom...eySettings.htm for background info). For Office 2007, the "version number" part of the key name that Terry mentioned is 12.0. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |

Brilliant - that works a treat, took a bit of finding but having got there it
