Default Slow typing in Track Changes/Comments

Hello, I have Office 2007 running on a Windows XP P4 PC. I've been having a
problem in Word.

When I use Track Changes in Print Layout view, typing becomes very slow.
Ditto when I use Comments. Holding the left arrow key, for example, causes
the cursor to move only intermittently. Typing in the comment is similarly
slow; even when I'm typing fast, the text appears slowly on screen.

If I close the file and reopen it, however, the problem goes away. If I use
Track Changes again--or add a new comment--the problem reappears.

Does anyone know of a fix for this problem? Thanks.

Can you reproduce the issue in a different document (with Track Changes
enabled)?

Yes, the issue occurs in all documents. Not just when I use Comments
and Track Changes, as I've discovered, but anytime I use the Review
Tab.

I've seen other folks with the same problem posting in various forums.
