Word Opening with IE
How can I stop Word from opening from within IE when I click on a link
on a web site that points to a .doc file? It's fine for Word to launch, but I do not want it to launch within IE since all of Word's functionality is not available when it is run as a plug-in. |

Point to the link but don't click, then look at the address listed in the status bar at the bottom of the IE window. If it's a .doc file, right-click the link and select Save Target As... That will download the .doc file to your computer, where you can double-click it to open it normally in Word. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org |
