Hyperlink a path to a CD/DVD
I am putting together a document in Word 2003 that will
be hyperlinked to photos and video. The whole thing will be on a CD/DVD. My question how would you edit the hyperlink to direct the query to a yet unburned disk? Thanks, Steve |

Best is to make the hyperlinks relative. Then the problem doesn't arise.
Confusingly, Word displays the full path to the hyperlink target as a tooltip, even when it stores only the relative path. "fogdrip" wrote in message ... That sounds like it would work - but HOW do you do that?
The discriptions in Word Help are obscure and unhelpful. Got an example? Again, Thanks Steve -----Original Message----- Best is to make the hyperlinks relative. Then the problem doesn't arise. When you add the hyperlink, enter the address as the relative file name (eg,
if the target is in the same folder, you just want the name, without any path). Or for an existing hyperlink, right-click, select Edit hyperlink. Edit the address as necessary. Or press Alt-F9 to display field codes and edit directly. That's all there is to it. wrote in message ... That sounds like it would work - but HOW do you do that? Gloriosky! It worked. I used the Alt-F9 combo to display
the hyperlink and then edited ALL the path out - leaving only the file name. Burned it on to a DVD and tried it in another computer. To my amazement and delight, the proper video clip appeared and played. Thank you so much for the help Steve -----Original Message----- When you add the hyperlink, enter the address as the relative file name (eg, if the target is in the same folder, you just want the name, without any path).
