Default purchase orders

I used to use FilemakerPro for a database for my purchase orders. But, my
computer went belly-up and now using a template I found in Microsoft for
purchase orders. But, I cannot figure out how to keep a data base of these
purchase orders, nor how to auto advance the PO number each time I open up
the document.

I have been spending far too much time recreating the wheel with my computer
dying, and have become a poster child for urging folks to remember to back-up
(that goodness for my back-up drive - have all my data EXCEPT FilemakerPro).
Plus I was on a Mac and now am on a PC!

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Default purchase orders

Word is not a database application - however see
http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/Extract_Form_Data.htm which might help with the
data collection. As for the unique numbering - see
