My font is changing when I copy and paste between formatted docume
Hi all~
I have several 'templates' of different commonly used documents saved on my computer. My old computer recently died, and all of my documents were saved on our office "H" drive so I could easily obtain them again. I now have a computer with Office 2003. If I copy a section in one of my main documents, and attempt to paste it into the same place on another document (all of which has verdana 11pt bold font), it changes it to Trebuchet in both 11pt and 12pt font sizes. Needless to say, this is driving me crazy! I have checked my formatting and made certain that they were listed as the same (body text, 11pt, bold auto, with line spacing), and tried marking them as that and saving the 'template', but it continues to do it. Any thoughts? Thanks! ~Marianne |

When you paste there is a little tag at the paste point which allows you to
accept the font from the original document or adopt the font on the document that you are copying to. Is the default font Trebuchet? -- Rae Drysdale "wubbie3me" wrote: Hi all~ I have several 'templates' of different commonly used documents saved on my computer. The default font is set as verdana 11pt. I see the little tag at the bottom,
and if I tell it to 'source formatting' it goes back to the way it was when I originally copied it. But I'd really not prefer to do it every time, when I do this up to 50 times per day. ~Marianne "Rae Drysdale" wrote: When you paste there is a little tag at the paste point which allows you to accept the font from the original document or adopt the font on the document that you are copying to. Oh, and the fonts on both the original document and the one I am copying to

If you use edit paste special unformatted text, it will adopt the
formatting of the destination paragraph, which I think is what you want. As you do this a lot, you may benefit from a macro attached to a keyboard shortcut or toolbar button that operates all the steps - Sub PasteUnfText() On Error GoTo oops Selection.PasteSpecial DataType:=wdPasteText, Placement:= _ wdInLine End oops: Beep End Sub See http://www.gmayor.com/installing_macro.htm -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org wubbie3me wrote: Oh, and the fonts on both the original document and the one I am copying to are verdana 11pt. Sometimes conflicting style definitions in the two documents make this happen. See what style the text you are copying is set to, and then look at how that style is defined in each document. The two styles may have the same name, but different formats in the two documents. -- Cardlaw |
