Default Microsoft Word Table issue

I'm working in a Word table and all of a sudden I noticed I have an asteric
in each field. How do I get them out, and what did I do to get them there?

Hi,

it is the end-of-cell mark,
not an asterisk, simply speaking.

It appears according to your settings in
Tools, Options, View, Formatting Marks.

Try clicking this button [¶]

Still better, ignore them.
They won't print.

Default Microsoft Word Table issue

Helmet is correct but also always go to Print Preview to see what will
actually be printed.
