Default Some headings in my TOC are bold and some are not. Why?

The TOC picks up the format of only some headings as they are in the text. I
have my headings consistenly bolded manually in the texty, but in the TOC
some are bold and some are not. I want what is in the text to be reflected
consistently in the TOC.

TOC entries pick up only direct font formatting. If your heading styles are
defined as bold, the TOC entries will not be bold unless the TOC styles are
also defined as bold. If you want the TOC entries to be bold, this
formatting should be made part of the TOC 1, TOC 2, etc., styles. If you
want the headings to be bold, then bold should be defined as part of the
heading style. Neither should have direct font formatting except in
specific, limited cases such as where you want italics for emphasis.
