This is something of a dilemma. If you don't use punctuation and have no
concept of grammatical construction or the use of capital letters, how would a macro be able to sort out your ramblings into paragraphs? If, however you simply want to make each sentence into a paragraph, a start might be to use the replace function to replace a full stop (period) with a full stop followed by a paragraph marker (^p). -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org "mri 1397" wrote in message ... i am somewhat dyslexic. is there a macro to convert text into one sentence paragraphs so i can read them better. |

Use the Search and Replace dialog (Control+H) to find instances of a 'full
stop followed by a space' and replace with a 'full stop followed by a paragraph break'. -- Terry Farrell - MSWord MVP "mri 1397" wrote in message ... i am somewhat dyslexic. is there a macro to convert text into one sentence paragraphs so i can read them better. |

Reading your other reply, I think you need something different.
Am I correct in thinking that you find the lines of text are TOO long? You want shorter lines so that it is easier to read? Terry "mri 1397" wrote in message ... Don't use Ctrl+P; type ^p (the ^ character is Shift+6 on U.S. keyboards).
Or click More to expand the dialog, click Special, and choose Paragraph Mark from the menu. -- Suzanne S. You don't really need to record a macro to do this; just do it.

I can't see how replacing a period and a space with a period and a paragraph
mark is so difficult, and this would largely accomplish what you want. -- Suzanne S. ... i was hoping for help. Within the limitations of the information you initially provided that's what you have got. If you want it as a macro, then Sub CreateParas() Dim oRng As Range Set oRng = ActiveDocument.Range With oRng .Text = Replace(oRng.Text, Chr(46) & Chr(32), Chr(46) & Chr(13)) .Text = Replace(oRng.Text, Chr(63) & Chr(32), Chr(63) & Chr(13)) .Text = Replace(oRng.Text, Chr(33) & Chr(32), Chr(33) & Chr(13)) .ParagraphFormat.SpaceAfter = 12 End With End Sub http://www.gmayor.com/installing_macro.htm will take you as close as you are likely to get. However you still have the problem that the macro requires a properly constructed sentence in order to have something to work with. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org |
