Default zip code omits the 0

Using a trial 2007 Word and excel. The zip code field is a custom field for
the zip code in my excel spreadsheet. When I do a mail merge, the zero is
surpressed on my letters. What am I doing wrong?

Default zip code omits the 0

You need a formatting switch - see the zip code section at
