Default Outlook mail merge - select by "Category"

I want to make mailing labels for a select category in Outlook 2003. I have
tried by starting in Outlook and selecting those under that category but
can't get it to merge. I've tried by starting in Word but cannot find the
Query option so I can select only those names under my selected category.
Can't find specific instructions online. Can you help?

Default Outlook mail merge - select by "Category"

Once you select the recipients in Outlook, there is no need to select them
again, nor should you try.
"Can't get it to merge" tell us nothing. State what you tried and what
happened in full detail.
