I have a word document, formatted as two column page layout.
One column i want to have a grey background, so i used shading text. But when i use this i get different white horizontal lines between the text. Note: this appears only on screen, when printing everything is fine and column is shaded as expected.

Is there a possibility to remove the white lines on screen, or is there another possibility (other than using tables) to get rid of these lines?

Update your printer driver? (That's what governs the details of page layout.)

Is the "Space After" the paragraphs set to something other than 0?
