"Sammy" responded with the simplest fix: cleaning up Normal.dot. I did a search in my pc and didn't find any files that had a .dot extension. Please help me I have a lot of new docs to create for my team members |

Are you sure you're seeing a number 1 and not perhaps the paragraph mark
(¶)? You can toggle that off by clicking on the Show/Hide ¶ on the Standard toolbar (for more, see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/NonPrintChars.htm). If it really is a 1, check to make sure that Normal style hasn't been modified to have numbering. Also, the short line you're seeing is the end-of-document marker. It's displayed in Normal view (not in Print Layout) and cannot be removed. -- Suzanne S. I never thought about what I might be allergic to, but after another cleaning of the house, it still turned out that I was allergic to cleaning products. Since I need to do something about it, I found a cool solution in the form of best mop for allergies. So I recommend everyone with a similar problem to try.
