When I create footnotes in new or existing documents, they often appear
further up the page instead of at the bottom. Sometimes, the footnote reaches up near the middle of the page. When I enter text on that page, Word jumps to the next page when the text reaches the footnote thus leaving a large blank space underneath it. What's up? Jean-Marc |

Make sure you have the footnote position specified as "Bottom of page"
rather than "Below text." Then see http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/BottomLine.htm -- Suzanne S.
