I get prompt occasionally (not all the time) to save normal.dot
In options Save tab, I dont have the 'Prompt to save normal template'
checked so why does this happen at all.
I just installed word recently .....and I am not re-installing. I had the
same problem with word97

Whatever the reason for the anomaly - you *should* have the prompt option
enabled. You really don't want Word making changes behind your back, which
is the alternative.
