i cannot open word program fom either the desktop or application other users
accounts on the computer are able todo so but i am not

What happens if you open Start | Run and type

winword

Does this start Word? If not, use Windows search to search for winword.exe.
When you find it, create a shortcut and drag it to the desktop, Start menu,
or Quick Launch bar.
