Can't delete a word document
I have a user that has a word 2003 document on the server. When he
opens it, it comes up as read only. if you try to make a change, and save the document, it asks you to save as. If you try to delete the file itself, it states it is being used by another person or program. I took ownership of the file and deleted all other permissions that were associated to the file yet i am still unable to delete the file. No one has the file open. it is a revision of an important file, so the file name has to be the same. can anyone help out? |

Can't delete a word document
There's probably a lock file causing a problem
http://www.gmayor.com/what_to_do_when_word_crashes.htm If that doesn't clear it and you are unable to reboot the server, you may be able to delete the file via a DOS window. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org wrote: I have a user that has a word 2003 document on the server.
