Default Problem with the Product Key

In December, I got a laptop computer that came with Word 2007 already
installed. Recently, I contracted a virus from somewhere and had to do a
system restore, wiping everything from my computer. Everything seems to work
fine, save for when I opened Word. A box popped up asking for my product key.
The key is located on a sticker on the bottom of my computer and I re-entered
it. However, the box is not accepting it and it saying the key is incorrect.
I checked the key several times and have made sure it's right, but the box is
refusing it. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this or why the key is not
working?

The key on the bottom of your computer is not the key for WORD and that's why
it's not working.

If WORD came with your computer it may have been a Trial Only version which
may by now have expired. If this is the case you will have to go out and
purchase WORD separately.

If my comments have helped please hit Yes.

Thanks.

How would I know if the version has expired or not? It was working normally
until the virus and computer wipe. Also, if it has expired, how would I
purchase Word, considering my computer doesnt have a disc drive? Is there a
way to purchase online? I've never had this kind of problem before.

If it came with the computer, look at the documentation to see if it was a
trial or an OEM version. If OEM, the seller of the computer should have
given you a product key. If you don't have it, contact them.

If it was a trial version, purchase it somewhere, like Amazon.
