Can I make the Insertion Point more visible, Color it perhaps ?
When I have typed many pages, and have gone backwards and forwards, cut,
pasted cut again etc. I sometimes lose track of where I left the Insertion Point. I do not want to move it from where I left it, because where I left it is where I wish to be !. There is of course no problem with the mouse cursor, hit the Control key and a circle explodes over the Mouse arrow. But whenever typing text in Outlook, or Word etc that single pulsating thin black line loves hiding away amongst the many words and once you start scrolling up and down it is like looking for the proverbial needle in the Haystack. PS. No A New Pair of Glasses has not helped either....................... My only answer has been to Home to the beginning of the line and scroll looking at the left hand 1st column position but surely there is a better answer than that ?. Is there a short cut (two key) locator or an add on program. lIKE THE cAPS oN aNNOUNCER I have which instantly alerts me to my clumsy finger press and says pleasantly"Caps On !" and even delays its effectiveness to avoid the problem altogether !. Word remember the last 3 edit points, just use the GoBack command
(Shift+F5). Alternatively, press Spacebar once: Word will jump to the insertion point plus the new space. Just backspace to remove the new space. -- Terry Farrell - MS Word MVP "hymiedavid" wrote in message ... another option, maybe or maybe not any better--hold down shift and press
an arrow key (try up or down). This is actually a way of selecting text, but the effect will be to highlight in color everything between the insertion point and the new cursor position. However, be careful with this--since the color is selected text, it will be easy to accidentally delete it. On my Mac, doing this also jumped Word to the right screen. You should post a Suggestion as feedback to MS--others have asked for a more visible IP. Terry Farrell wrote: Word remember the last 3 edit points, just use the GoBack command (Shift+F5).
