Default Merging from Access to word

When I merge number fields from Access to Word, they do not retain their
numeric format. Ex: 1,008 is merged as 1008, or $40.00 is merged as 40. Is
there a way to have the word document pick up not only the numbers but the
formatting that goes with the number. Or can I format a field in Word to
change it's numeric format?

Also does anyone know if in the 2007 version, can you merge OLE pictures
from Access into word.

Thanks
