Default Using Heading3 in table spanning two pages

I have a table with two columns. The first column contains a heading3
numbered indicator for steps (6.1.1, next row 6.1.2, etc.), the second
column holds text. Step 6.1.4 spans two pages and I need to indicate 6.1.4
in the first column of the second page also (for auditing purposes). How do
I do this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. These auditors are driving me crazy!

The only way (though probably not really satisfactory is to insert a cross
reference to the heading number.

Hope this helps.
