[Qimi]

If I have Word open in Full Screen I have the slide and arrows on the right
that allows me to scroll up and down; but if I close FullScreen and go back
to normal mode the slide and arrows disappear and can only croll through the
keyboard arrows.

What's gone wrong?

Tools | Options | View and check the box for "Vertical scroll bar."
