Default Embedding a PowerPoint Presentation in Word

I'm currently working in Word 2003 and I go into Insert, Object, Create from
File, I browse for file and I Display the file as Icon. When I double click
the file to open it only displays the first slide in PowerPoint and not the
entire presentation.

I would like to see all the slides in the presentation when I double click
to open the file.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks,

Assuming the presentation contains more than one slide:

The slides must have timings & the presentation set to automatically run
using the slide timings rather than manually, or

Once you dbl-clk the icon you need to press spacebar or click the mouse
button, etc to advance from one slide to the next.

If you are looking to open the presentation file for editing purposes, don't
dbl-clk the icon. Instead, right-click it & choose Presentation ObjectEdit
(or Open) to open the file in PPt.

Default Embedding a PowerPoint Presentation in Word

The presentation has 11 slides and I use to be able to double-click the PPT
icon in Word and open the presentation in "Normal" View not "Slideshow" View.
The same presentation in question opens up in Slideshow view in my
co-worker's computer, but in mine it opens up in Normal view but it only
displays one slide.

How can I tell word to open the presentation in Normal view when I double
click the embedded file?

Thanks,

When I right-click on Icon I see in the shortcut menu, Slide Object and my
co-worker sees Presentation Object. I have tried to convert to presentation,
but when I double-click icon I'm only able to open to the first slide. I
cant even tell word to open the file in Slideshow view.

How can I fix this?

Based on your _other_ thread you have converted the embedded *presentation*
to *a* slide, so only the active slide at that time is still viewable. You
will need to delete the icon & embed the PPt file again.

Also, please confine any posts on the same topic to the one thread. Multiple
postings of the same issue are confusing for everyone, including you.
