footnote numbering
I am working on a document which already has footnotes entered. Some of the
footnotes seem to be manually entered. As a result, the footnotes are numbered incorrectly. However, when I try to make changes, the numbering of the footnotes is wrong. It skips two or three numbers. How can I fix this? |

footnote numbering
You'll need to delete the manually entered footnotes, and reenter
them using the Insert-Reference-Footnote command. And if you are tracking changes in the document, you might have to accept all tracked changes, press Ctrl+A to select the whole document, and press F9 to update fields before the footnote numbers are correct.
