Default New Documents Start with "Bookmark"

Lately, all new documents in my Word 2003 start with shaded { } as if I had
done a Ctrl + F9. I can not find the setting to turn this off.
Please help. And Happy New Years to all.
Thanks
Marsh

What you describe is a field rather than a bookmark. If you have bookmarks
displayed (Tools | Options | View), then you might see [ ]. If it *is* a
field, then Alt+F9 will hide it (since it seems to be empty), but it would
be better to remove it altogether; see
