Autocopy text in Word
If you will clarify what you mean by "autocopy," we may be able to provide a
solution. -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA Word MVP FAQ site: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. "capnhud" wrote in message ... Is there a way to autocopy text in Word? |

I have no problem in doing that particular action for a few items but to
repeat it over 30 times definetely requires some type of automation. Which is why I posted the question "Suzanne S. On a Linux box once highlight text it is automatically copied to the clipboard. With windows this is not the case so I am basically trying to acheive the same result "Suzanne S. Autocopy text in Word
If selected text were automatically copied, it would replace whatever was
currently on the Clipboard. This would mean that it would be impossible to select text and paste the Clipboard contents to replace it, which I think few users would want. If you'll tell us exactly what you're trying to accomplish, there is probably a better way (if only with a macro). -- Suzanne S. Autocopy text in Word
I have set up product with descriptions, codes and pictures. Now I would
like to take the product codes and insert them into excel. However when I hightlight the codes I must right click to copy to the clip board. Thus if I have 40 product codes only 24 can be copied to the clipboard but 3 actions are required with right clicking and 2 with ctrl+c but I would just only one action just hightlighting which will automatically copy to clipboard. Autocopy text in Word
In Word 2002 and above, you can make multiple selections at one time. Select
one item, then press Ctrl while selecting each additional one. If the codes are such that you can find them with the Find dialog, you can use "Highlight all items found," then copy the resulting selected text. Or you could use the Spike to accumulate material (the drawback of the Spike being that it cuts rather than copies). -- Suzanne S.
