Default PROBLEM OPENING WORD DOCUMENT

I get a message saying "word experienced an error trying to open up the file.
try these suggestions. 1-check the file permissions for the document or
the drive. 2-make sure there is sufficient free memory and disk space. 3-open
the file with the text recovery converter." I permission for the document as
far as I can tell. I think I have enough space. I don't seem to have "text
recovery converter" option. and have been trying to get it as well as
everything else I could find. Can someone please help me? Is there anyone
familar with any of this? thank you

From the "Files of type" pull down in the FileOpen dialog box, select the
"Recover Text from any file" item before you click on Open, or, use the
pulldown on the Open button itself and select Open and Repair.

Hope this helps.

What version of Word are you using? It is not something that you have to
down load, it is an item in the list that appears when you expand the Files
of type pulldown in the FileOpen dialog.
